Pink Crush Nail Tutorial

Pink Crush Nail Tutorial

Steps :

  1. Paint your nails with an opaque white polish.
  2. Paint on your coloured polish
  3. When that's all totally dry, grab a makeup sponge and brush some of that glitter onto the end! This is the same technique as you would use for gradient/ombre nails, only I found it to be a MUCH easier way to apply glitter too. Everything stays in one place!
  4. Transfer the glitter to your nails by just rolling it on top.
  5. Voila! My glitter is stuck in place and I didn't have to deal with a brush!

Katniss Hair Braid Tutorial

Katniss Hair Braid Tutorial

This braid is an inside-out braid and it's easier to do when your hair is a little wet, but you can do it with dry hair too. Wet hair helps it grab better and the braid from the movie is very tight...but for those of us who use braided styles as our go to for bad, or dirty hairs days (myself included), it still looks great done loosely on dry hair.

Summer Nights Hair Braid Tutorial

Summer Nights Hair Braid Tutorial

Steps :
  • 1. Start with your hair down. My hair is very straight naturally, so I curled it the day before, giving it a messy, wavy look.
  • 2. First, take a small strand from each side of your head close to your ear, wrap it around to the opposite side and pin in place.
  • 3 - 4. Repeat this process two more times, creating six strands crossing back and forth.
  • 5. Next, create a semi-loose braid with the rest of your hair.
  • 6. Lastly, add flowers throughout your braid!

The Wrap Around Side Braid

The Wrap Around Side Braid

Steps :
1) Start with a dramatic side part.
2) Take a collection of hair from where your part starts and begin the braid only adding in hair from the front side or the side of the braid closest to your face or neck. This makes it an open, or one-sided french braid.
3) Keep braiding from underneath the braid, only taking hair from the front side of the braid.

~Always keep the braid on top of the loose hair you are braiding in.
~If you mess up, it's OK. Unbraid the hair until you can find the 3 strands again. Stay calm and keep going. If it's not perfect it is ok. Sometimes the flaws in a braid make it better.

4) Once all the hair is braided in, continue with a standard braid the rest of the way down, or put it in a messy bun, or keep a smaller braid going with part of the hair left out and do a messy bun with a braid in it. There are so many options!

Double Side Braid Hair Tutorial

Double Side Braid Hair Tutorial

Steps :
  1. Begin with your hair down.
  2. Take a section of your hair from the thicker side of your part.
  3. Then braid it all the way down. It will lie flat on your head best if you angle it back as you're braiding it.
  4. Next, using a technique Elsie and Sarah taught me here, slightly tug all along the braid, making it appear thicker.
  5. Once the braid is complete, pin it on the back/far side of your head underneath the top layer of your hair, covering the bobby pins.
  6. Next, braid the rest of your hair into a side braid.
  7. Continue with the same process as the first braid, slightly tugging along the whole thing.
  8. If it's really windy that day, add a spritz of hairspray to keep it place.

4 Strand Lace Braid Hair Tutorial

Four Strand Lace Braid Hair Tutorial

Steps :
  1. First, put your hair into a ponytail with four strands of long lace attached to the inside of the ponytail.
  2. Next, divide your hair into four sections, with a strand of lace in each section.
  3. Now it's time to braid! From left to right, we will number each strand to make it a little easier. Strand one goes over strand two and under strand three. In the next photo you'll see strand four go under strand one, then over strand three. Simply said, the outside piece will always be the strand you'll weave with, going under then over, then over then under, etc.
  4. Continue this process until you've reached the end of your hair and secure with an elastic band.
  5. Then, take the remaining strands of the lace and wrap around the end of your braid, covering the elastic band. Lastly, cut the elastic band at the top, and tuck the ends of the lace into the braid.

Top Knot Hair Tutorial

Top Knot Hair Tutorial

When I need a quick hairstyle, the messy top knot is my go-to. But sometimes, it's not as quick and easy as I want it to be. Too floppy. Too tight. Too high. Re-doing the bun four or five times sort of defeats the purpose of a quick hairstyle, doesn't it? So I came up with this foolproof quick knot that's easy to nail the first time, and you're out the door in under three minutes! injoy.

Named after the popular "Gibson girl" made famous by artist Charles Dana Gibson, the Gibson tuck was a popular way for women to style their hair in the early 20th century and is now back as an elegant red carpet favorite. We're happy to say that this Edwardian style is actually easier to create than you may think, and you can do it yourself in less than five minutes.

  1. Start with damp hair. I dried the back out a bit more and set it on a curler to acheive some extra volume. Part hair far to one side.
  2. Using a comb, isolate the front section of your hair that you plan to braid. Clip excess hair back.
  3. "Braid" first section and bobby pin it. I used a quick two strands twisting technique.
  4. Release the section of hair you pinned back, and braid using the same technique as above and pin.
  5. Make one braided section on the opposite side of your head and pin.
  6. Put your hair in a pony tail and do the gibson tuck.
